News from around the School

NEW - Chatter Matters

Ten activities will be provided during term 4 focusing on pragmatic language skills. Pragmatics refers to the social use of language and includes what we say, how we say it, our body language and whether it is appropriate to the situation.

5. Take turns when eating dinner for family members to share one piece of information about their day. Encourage everyone to respond with either a comment or by asking a question.

Make sure that when each member is asking a question they; say the person’s name and look at them directly. Fort example; Matt, how did you go at footy training today?

6. We can communicate so much by the way we say something. See if you and your child can say the following sentence in different ways to change the underlying meaning: “Oh, you’ve had a haircut”. You can sound surprised, amused, jealous etc. by putting the emphasis on different words and using different intonation.

Lost & Found

Our cleaning staff recently found a gold and opal pendant, no chain, in the Marian Centre.  If you are missing one, please contact the school office.

NEW -Medication

If your student requires medication whilst they are at school, medication with a pharmaceutical label stating the students name and dosage is required.  A parent or guardian will also need to fill in and sign an authorisation form before staff are able to administer. Medication is to be left at the school office for staff to administer.

This is a requirement for all medications and an Authorisation PDF is attached below.

Armistice day

Remember those who died

Marching on the way

Injured soldiers

Silence for 1 minute

The Turks we fought

In silence we remember

Captured by the enemy

Explosions near.
