Principal's Announcements

Remembrance Day

Thank you to the students who represented St Mary's at the Mooroopna Remembrance Day service on Sunday.  The children played a special part in the ceremony laying  poppies for each of the local soldiers who died 100 years ago in World War 1. Josh and Daisy laid the wreath for the school.

School Board

At our School Board meeting last night we discussed a number of different items.  The redevelopment of the tennis courts will be taking place over Summer with the surface being replaced with a synthetic grass.  We have decided not to proceed with the roof over the courts for a number of reasons, but may revisit this work in the future.  A new memorial garden will be located in the small garden bed near the Church ramp.  More information on that to come.  We reviewed our Parent Access Module (PAM) and discussed possible improvements as we move into next year.  We were very happy with the number of parents who completed our survey and we analysed the responses.  It generated some great discussion and we will continue to use the survey to direct our planning into next year. It was our final meeting for the year and I would sincerely like to thank all Board members, especially our parent representatives who give up their time to be part of the group. 100 Heroes Club!

Congratulations to the 44 students who have reached 100 PBIS cards, what a fantastic achievement!  As a reward, these outstanding students will be joining me for a pizza lunch tomorrow (Thursday).  Well done kids!

Gr 4 Camp

It was great to hear the Gr 4's had a wonderful time at Camp Currumbene last week.  They enjoyed the abseiling, canoeing, orienteering, archery, flying fox, rock wall and ropes course.  I especially pleased to hear the children's manners and behaviour was excellent.

New Building Projects

We are very excited to announce that we are going to redevelop our tennis courts into a multipurpose sports area.  The courts will be resurfaced with a synthetic base and include a basketball & netball court.

We are also going to refurbish our administration area which includes a new sick bay, Principal's office, Board room and main entrance to the school.  We hope that both projects will be completed in the first 6 months of 2019.
