Sport and PE Report

Regional Hockey

On Friday 9th August, our Year 5/6 Hockey teams competed in the Regional Hockey 7s Competition at the Hawthorn-Malvern Hockey Club. Students were selected to represent the school in this competition after competing at the District level last term and through participation in weekly Thursday morning training sessions run by Mr King.

Both our boys and girls teams performed exceptionally well on the day, showing fantastic resilience in the cold and windy conditions. Our girls team finished 2nd in their pool, narrowly missing out on progressing to the knockout stages. Our boys team were fantastic, winning the regional final in a close game! They will now progress to the State Hockey Competition on Thursday 12th September.

A big thank-you to Mr King for giving up so much of his time to prepare, train and coach our teams.

Year 3/4 Hoop Time Competition

Help Needed

We are still in desperate need for parent helpers to assist with coaching and scoring (no experience necessary) at the Year 3/4 Hoop Time Competition at the Dandenong Basketball Stadium on Monday 9th September. This is a fantastic day and we encourage as many parents as possible to assist.

If you are able to assist, please copy and paste the link below to enter your details on the Google Form.

Gymnastics Program

We are almost at the end of our gymnastics program during PE for 2019. Our students have thoroughly enjoyed extending their strength, movement and flexibility skills, with students practicing different types of rolling in the junior grades all the way up to cartwheels and round-offs  in the senior grades. Check out some photos of our Year 5/6s performing pyramids in PE this week.
