Don't forget our Easter Hat Parade tomorrow, Friday 12th April at 11.45am under the COLA. We are super excited as this is always a highlight of our school year. A reminder that all children are asked to make an Easter Hat at home to wear at the parade. It will also be a "free dress day" for all children K-6.
On Thursday 25th April, children from Bathurst Public School have been invited to join together to March in the Bathurst ANZAC Day Parade. We would be delighted for the children from our school to participate in this parade. As this date falls at the end of the school holidays, parents will be responsible for transport to and from the parade. Students and teachers who wish to take part in the March are asked to meet Mrs McClements at the Bathurst RSL Club, 114 Rankin St at 9:45am. The children will be assembled into lines and will lead the parade at 10:15am to the Carillion Service. Students can then be collected at the end of the service from staff in front of the Court House.
Students will need to wear their full winter school uniform to March in the parade.

The application process for Year 5 opportunity class placement in 2020 is about to begin.
Important dates in the application process are as follows:
- Tuesday 30 April 2019: Online applications open
- Friday 17 May 2019: Online applications close (Parents and carers must apply by the due date.)
Opportunity classes located in 75 NSW government primary schools cater for Year 5 and Year 6 academically gifted and talented students. These classes help gifted and talented students to learn by grouping them with other gifted and talented students and using specialised teaching methods and educational materials at the appropriate level. Parents normally apply when students are in Year 4. Students who are placed then attend the opportunity class full time in Years 5 and 6 at the primary school with an opportunity class. It is a two-year placement program. In the majority of cases, students who accept a place in an opportunity class will leave their current school to attend the school with an opportunity class. There is no provision to apply for Year 6 placement only.
