FRENCH

Salut tout le monde!

Comment ça va? (How are you?). C'est bientôt les vacances (It is soon the holidays)..... Youpi (Woohoo)!

After a busy Semester in French, we are taking it easy before the holidays. In Prep, Grade 1T and Grade 1/2D, we have started online lessons and games to practice our numbers (1-10 in Prep, 1-20 in Grades 1T & 1/2D).

In Grades 2/3S and 3/4A, we watched a French movie ('Belle and Sebastian') to learn about life in France in a small village during WWII. Before watching, we shared in class what we knew about that period in history. It was also a nice way to discover the magnificent landscapes of the French Alps. This story, 'Belle et Sébastien' is a from a famous book written in 1965 by Cécile Aubry. All French children have read and loved it.

The students of Grade 5/6K created a display for the French classroom called 'D'où sont-ils?' (where are they from?' ). Each pair made up a character from a country of their choice and presented him/her using sentences learnt this Term.

In Grade 5/6M, the students created posters for the classroom, featuring a sentence and a matching illustration. It was a way to revise noun genders (male or female), colours and to practice how to use them as  adjectives in a full sentence.
