On October 23, Year 7/8 boys from Edenhope & Balmoral College teamed up to make a school hockey team. It was a very successful day. We lost the first game and then had to work hard to win the rest of the games on the day.

On a hot Thursday, seven Edenhope College girls joined forces with two from Balmoral to form an undermanned hockey team, that surprisingly came runners up. The lack of numbers couldn’t stop our team, who by the end of the first game, where running off pure sugar and excitement.

Our team beat both Dimboola and Horsham College, but lost to Monivae, earning us the red ribbon. In between games, it was great to see all the girls chatting together in the luxury of the air-conditioning. On the way home, we were treated to some fast food to refuel our stomachs.

Big thanks to everyone who played, especially those who do not play hockey, but still gave it a try, Mr. Cooper for driving the bus, and Keiren Brennan for coaching us.

Primary Golf Tournament

On Thursday in hot and steamy conditions a wonderful group of primary students went to the Edenhope Golf Club to compete with other Wimmera region school students for a modified 9 hole golf competition.

Around 50 students competed in a boys and a girls competition. Jai Underwood, Hunter Adams, Declan Joubert and Lolah Joubert represented our school with a wonderful effort, behaviour and respect despite the difficult weather conditions. All the students performed very well with the two boys tied on 52 and just missing out on going to the next level. Lolah hit some beautiful shots done the middle of the fairways and also sank some nice putts. Hunter played consistently all through the round for an excellent 63, which to the excitement of all in attendance placed her in equal third. This meant Hunter was successful in gaining one of the places in the next round!

Thank you to Miss Cathy Craig and Mr Phil Irvin for guiding the students around the course and also a huge thanks to Tony Collier and his team from Golf Victoria who were ecstatic at the turn out of so many juniors being interested in golf in the area and they hope that it continues to grow into the future.

Year 7/8 Boys Tennis

On Friday October 10, Dashel Adams and Jaali Brennan had an early start and headed down to Ballarat for the Year 7/8 Boys Tennis Tournament.

Our team was made of two players from Edenhope College, Jaali Brennan and Dashel Adams and Thomas & Rees from Balmoral College. Thomas was our number 1, Rees our 2, Jaali as 3 and Dashel as 4. The competition was strong with one team keeping us to 2 points. We ended up winning only won one game for the day, but we had loads of fun which was the main thing.
