Principals message

Welcome back to Term 3!

Visit from the Education Minister

On Thursday, the 21st of July, we were fortunate enough to have a visit from Natalie Hutchins, the new Victorian Education Minister. She took a tour of the school and was very impressed with our teachers and students. We were excited to speak with the education minister about all the positive changes that have been happening within the school and what is to come. The students shared with her all the great things they do at school and what they are looking forward to about the new build.

Learning Support

Last term, teachers were doing a lot of assessment and data analyses to assist them in writing reports. As part of this process, many students receiving additional learning support through the tutoring initiative have done such a fantastic job that they have progressed off this support program. These students will continue to be supported by their classroom teacher to keep growing as learners.

Camp

Grade 3-6 camp is on again for another year. On Monday, the 25th of July, our Grade 3 to 6 students will be heading off to Stringy Bark Lodge in Gembrook. Grade 3/4's will be returning on Wednesday the 27th of July, and the Grade 5/6's will return on the 29th of July. Please ensure students have packed appropriate items and are on time Monday morning.

Thanks to Camelia for all her hard work in organising the camp this year.

We look forward to hearing about the amazing adventures you will have!

Recommended Mask Wearing and Rapid Antigen Testing

Just a reminder about the new mask recommendations that have come out this week. The Education Department recommends that students eight years of age and over wear a mask when in the classroom. The school is still supplying Rapid Antigen Testing kits, and we encourage students to test for COVID on Monday and Wednesday. This will continue for the remainder of Term 3.

Foundation 2023

If you have a child who will be starting Foundation next year, we would appreciate your support by handing in your enrolment forms as soon as possible, as we are in the process of planning for next year. Most of our planning is based on the number of enrolled students. Please let the office know if you would like us to send an enrolment pack home with your eldest child. If anyone knows of any other families not already attending our school and who have a child ready to begin Foundation next year, we would also appreciate your support in encouraging them to think about enrolling their child at our wonderful school. For those families that have already enrolled, you will soon receive an enrolment confirmation letter and details about our transition program.
