Maths Tutor Program
MATHS + COVID19 = TUTORING
As a result of countless lost hours of quality face-to-face teaching over the past couple of years, the Victorian Government has funded a tutoring initiative to support students in Numeracy and Literacy on their return to the classroom. We are thrilled to be able to involve all our Years 7–9 students to experience Frankston High School’s very own Numeracy Tutoring Program.
Once a week, Maths classes across Years 7-9 are split into smaller groups with a current and passionate Frankston High School Maths teacher. These teachers are planning engaging and relevant material to support, consolidate or extend students based on their point of need in the classroom.
The program has all students involved in more personal, targeted, and differentiated teaching and learning of mathematics. Teachers have seen a boost in student outcomes and student self-confidence in the classroom. Here are some feedback comments from a selection of students who are in the program.
