Madison Corsini

Assistant Farm Manager

Week 7 of Term 2 is approaching us and this Term is flying by with students busily completing practical components on Farm.  All Students have been completing their theory in VET Classes which is allowing students to be out on the farm, completing practical work. Year 12's have only 13 weeks left with us down on farm to finish what is required to complete their certificates. So please, I can't stress enough to use your time wisely and work through your plans to achieve all that you can.  If any Year 12 (or parent) has any questions on their requirements to have everything completed by Week 10 Term 3, please contact Mrs Corsini. Certificate III students, have been working hard, to complete their requirements to finish in Term 4 Week 2. If you follow your plans and ensure practical work is being completed, you guys will achieve great results!

Third Party Reports

I have spoken to all students in VET Theory Class in regards to third party reports being completed over the holidays or weekends. Please get in contact with Mrs Corsini if you have the opportunity to complete some third-party reports. The third-party reports are evidence towards the students Certificate II in Agriculture practicals. I will send what the requirements are out via email. We also require video evidence to support the paperwork. I recommend getting a USB and putting all evidence on the USB each night or week to bring back to the college when you return.  If any students are interested in completing these reports, please see Mrs Corsini before the end of Term.

Uniform

Students have now been reminded on farm (numerous times) about the expectation of being dressed in correct work clothes and PPE required for Farm. As per the Guidelines, I have outlined a few major ones below that have been communicated in morning roll call for students to follow. Compass demerit reports will be written from now on.

Dress Standards & Safety Equipment

  • All students are required to wear high viz farm clothing as per clothing list.
  • College farm work clothes consist of neat clean trousers, shirts, jumper, or college jacket, free from tears or rips.
  • Broad brimmed college bucket hats are compulsory during terms one and four.
  • Long hair needs to be always tied back and if necessary, secured with a hair net.
  • Students must bring their own personal issue safety glasses to farm.
  • Sunscreen is provided at the farm workshop and students are encouraged to make regular use of it.
  • No mobile phones on farm (students).  The phone will be confiscated and stored in the college safe.

Weekend Duty

I would just like to thank all those students who have completed or nominated for their two weekend duties for this year and next. The rosters are complete and if you are unsure on what date you have been given, please get in contact with Mrs Corsini.

Just a reminder that swapping weekend roster is strongly discouraged but in the event this situation arises, students must give a valid reason, two weeks’ notice to myself, and find another student to replace them.  Students and parents have access to the roster through daily notices, Farm noticeboard, via email and parents can also access the information in the fortnightly College Chatter.
