From the Middle Years Leader 

Students in Years 9/10 Music learned about music history ranging from the Renaissance period to the Modern period. We also looked at architecture and artworks of the periods to see how they influenced music and vice versa. 

In our practical lessons, we learned how to play 'All Star' and 'Another One Bites the Dust' on our chosen instruments. 

In Stage 1 Music, students composed canons/rounds in their chosen keys and time signatures. They wrote accompanying lyrics to their canons, as well as a composer's statement. 

Students also compiled a themed radio playlist and wrote a script to accompany their playlist down memory lane. 

Students in Year 7/8 German learned about German fairy tales and pets, as well as animals on the farm. We also explored some children's songs and learned about what is typical German, using resources from Goethe Institute.
