We offer a number of Vocational Education and Training Certificate Courses at PHS.
In Week 10 students who have expressed an interest in doing a VET course in 2023 will be going on the first of our Industry Immersion visits.
They will be given a tour of Kelly Toyota in Jamestown and Kelly Engineering at Booleroo followed by a session in our own Trade School delivered by the UNI Hub Spencer Gulf and TAFE SA.
The purpose of the visits is to give students a chance to have a good look at the possible pathway they are choosing before they commit to a Vet course run at PHS.
The Vet courses we have had running face to face with TAFE SA Lecturers from Port Pirie and Barossa are;
All courses have SACE points associated with them and help students to meet the requirements to successfully complete their SACE
Students who are considering doing a Vet course as part of their SACE need to meet the following criteria;
Tafe require a minimum number of 8 - 10 students to make up a class so it is very important that if your student is thinking of doing a VET course in 2023 and they are currently in Year 10 and they haven’t already spoken to me that they see me ASAP so they can be included in the upcoming Industry Visits. We do have students from Jamestown and Orroroo who join our classes to help make up the numbers and in the past we have had Community Adults also join the class.
Please contact me at PHS on 86512306 if you have any questions or need more information.
