New England Sings

We have some very exciting things happening this term. To start things off though, I do want to inform you that we will not be doing an annual school play this year. Instead, our school has applied for and has now been accepted as a participant in New England Sings!

New England Sings! is a biennial mass choral event featuring over 800 students from local schools around the New England and North West region. Workshops are held around the region in the 3 months leading up to the final weekend (October 22-23) to assist schools in preparing for the performance. The students will also be very busy learning and practicing the songs daily ready for the workshops and for the big event.

Click Here to watch a video telling you more on what New England Sings! is all about.

The 2022 project will include:

The commissioning of two works from leading Australian composers – Justine Clarke (of Play School fame) for the Primary choir and Luke Byrne for the Secondary choir. The Primary choir work is a trilogy based on the life of Captain Thunderbolt who roamed the New England in the mid-19th century - very relevant to our school area! Paul Jarman, renowned composer/conductor will be presenting the workshops and final weekend of rehearsals and concerts.

More information on the Armidale and in-school workshops to follow in the coming weeks.

P&C News

The P&C have been busy fixing up the two sand pits in our playground. The small sandpit has been filled with beach sand and the large sandpit has been topped up with river sand. The kids have been enjoying playing in both of these.

Thank you to Will Taylor and Craig Zirkler for organising the sand. Thank you to the Munsie family for providing the Positrack and thank you everyone involved in spreading the sand ready for the kids to play!

Sport Shirts

Please return the Kentucky school sport shirts to school so your child/ren's name can be marked off the list. Thank you
