The Identity and Outreach team have been working to provide a variety of opportunities for our community to grow in faith, hope and love.
Year 11 Leadership is underway with interviews for College Captains in 2024 being held in Week 10. Student voice is vital in the College.
Congratulations to Olivia Byrne – whose artwork created for the Year 10 Religion Assessment in Term 1 has been printed into a banner (with permission) to be displayed in the College. It will feature in our Catholic Education Week celebrations next term.
SMCC Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)
The creation of our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is underway and we are grateful to all those in our community who have stepped forward to travel on this important journey towards reconciliation with us. You may see this image around. It is the artwork developed by the students who graduated in 2022 and their understanding of our College community journeying together in unity. The image forms part of an image of connected eggs in a bush turkey nest – each egg representing a school in the Diocese. This is our “egg”.
FRANCISCAN DAY OF PRAYER & REFLECTION
Our Parish priest and College chaplain, Fr Nathan McKay extends an invitation to all who wish to grow their own faith and nurture their spirituality.
THEME: Living a simple life: the Franciscan Way of Love
VENUE: Seville Mercy Conference Centre, 33 Bauhinia Ave, Earlville.
TIME: 9:00am – 7:30pm (finishing with shared meal)
PRESENTER: Fr Shinto Paulose OFM Cap
COST: To be provided once we know our numbers
PROGRAM: The program for the day will include talks from Fr Shinto on the theme of Living a Simple Life, opportunities for personal reflection, sharing and the celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
WHO: The day is open to all who might wish to attend. It is of especial relevance to those who are wanting to know more about Franciscan Spirituality.
