SACSA Rijken Cup

In Week 3 this term, we competed in the Rijken Cup, which is the pinnacle SACSA sporting event for our Senior School students. Our Senior School squad had a total of 33 students take part in Division 1 for Netball (Boys and Girls), Soccer (Boys), Basketball (Boys and Girls) and Volleyball (Boys and Girls).

We are pleased with the results for such a small contingent:

  • Girls Netball - Runners Up🥈
  • Boys Netball - Third place🥉
  • Boys Soccer - Third place🥉
  • Girls Basketball - Runners Up🥈
  • Boys Basketball - Runners Up🥈
  • Girls Volleyball - Fifth overall
  • Boys Volleyball - Seventh overall

The students represented the College well in the sporting community. They all arrived in uniform, were organised and prepared to support one another throughout long and tough competitions. The students have all displayed the skills and abilities in one or more sports; an achievement to be very proud of. Team success is not achieved by just one player, but that one player can help their teammates rise to the occasion and achieve performances that they may have not been able to before.

The experience for our teams is one that we would like to see grow in the future with a full squad and all events entered in 2024. It is a wonderful opportunity to compete against other Christian schools and enjoy the camaraderie of playing hard in all events with your peers. Congratulations to the students who participated and thanks to the H&PE staff who gave up many hours of their time and the parents who supported them.
