From Year 8 Lampard: Gratitude

As part of The Resilience Project, students have been exploring the concept of gratitude. Gratitude is the quality of being thankful; a constant readiness to offer and show appreciation. Did you know that practicing daily gratitude leads to more positive emotions, an increased ability to express compassion and kindness, and even builds stronger immune systems?

8L students have engaged in various gratitude activities, such as writing letters of gratitude to family members, pausing during lessons to practice readiness in expressing gratitude, and working together to create cards to thank staff across the school.

See photos of some 8L students sharing what they are grateful for today.

From Year 7 Bright

In Christian Studies, students are safe to ask honest questions, to help them find out more about who Jesus is. Last term, 7B explored Mark’s account of Jesus’ death and resurrection. The students raised some important questions about the events such as:

  • Why did people want to crucify Jesus even though he was on the cross forgiving us for our sins?
  • Why didn’t the disciples stay with Jesus when he was taking his last breaths?
  • If they thought Jesus wasn't the Messiah why did they make sure the tomb was guarded?

Our Director of Faith Formation and Wellbeing, Adam Wood, visited 7B to facilitate an engaging discussion about these questions. I hope that our students continue to think deeply about the claims of Jesus and consider what this means for their lives.
