WESA Cross Country

Congratulations to the 2023 Cross Country Team coming 2nd Overall

On Wednesday, 24th May a team of 66 students from WHPS travelled to Jells Park to compete in the 2023 WESA District competition.

WHPS had a full team of students in every category, with some exceptionally strong runners. The course was located at Jells Park again this year. The top 12 runners of each event would go through to compete again at the Division level. All our students were striving to finish in the top 12 for their races and determined to gain every point they possibly could for the school.

Needless to say, there were mixed feelings of excitement and nerves upon arrival. The weather was perfect for this event, clear blue sunny skies, however the grounds were often wet and muddy.

All our students completed the course, without any injuries, and many achieved results they were surprised and very proud of. There were 26 students who came in the top twenty for their race. This is a terrific result.

This year we have 13 students progressing through to the Division competition, being held at Mirrabooka Reserve, Blackburn on Wednesday May 31st from 10.00 - 11.30 am.
