Co-curricular - Junior Sport

Junior Sport Update

This weekend, the Junior School will compete in Round 5 of the Winter season. This marks the halfway point and to date the results have been favorable to the St Patrick’s College Junior School across the codes. All our teams have been competitive with many strong victories. Congratulations to our AFL side that has had a competitive start to their season, recently celebrating their first win for the season in Round 3. This weekend, the majority of Junior School teams are playing away. I look forward to hearing how all our teams perform this weekend.

SPC App Notifications

Recently, I have had a number of parents/carers contact me stating that they have missed notifications on the College App. It is important that parents and boys in Junior School are subscribed to the specific tags associated with their sports. Parents/carers and boys should subscribe to tags that are prefaced ‘Junior School’ and then the sport or activity. This includes ‘Junior School Fixtures.’ To check what you have subscribed to, please go to settings in the bottom right corner, click on ’Subscriptions’, click on ’Co-curricular’ and select the appropriate sport/activities. Please then go into ‘Notifications’ and make sure they are turned on. This should then make sure that you are receiving all the relevant information for Junior School Co-curricular activities.

Trials

Shot put trials will be completed this week. Please know that not all age groups will have trials. Due to numbers, nominees for some age groups in shot put will go straight to our carnival in Week 9 this term. Boys are to listen to announcements regarding further trial opportunities for high jump, discus and sprint events.

With the long weekend fast approaching and with it the end of term, there will be a few disruptions to the Junior School Co-curricular program. These will be communicated in future editions of the Especean  and the SPC App.

I look forward to another exciting round of sport this weekend and starting the trials for our athletics carnival.
