Sam W (Year 10)

Australian Schoolboys Softball Championships

Well done to Sam who competed at the Australian Schoolboys Softball Championships

in Werribee last month. The team performed beyond expectation, and although they came up short in a close fought Bronze Medal game (2-1) the boys can hold their heads high. NSW & QLD are the benchmark in boys softball nationally and Sam held his own against these quality teams and players, where he dominated as a Catcher & Batter.

Highlights for Sam during the tournament apart from being Vice Captain, would be when he hit a Home Run during the QLD game.

Talia N (Year 11)

Last week saw Talia take up to opportunity to play for the ACT team in the under 18 years School Sports Australia Softball Championships in Werribee, Victoria.

In an event where Melbourne did its best to show all four of its seasons every day, Talia became a core member of the team from Canberra. (Coming second in their MVP count) Hitting numerous triples and batting over 500 for the tournament, Talia was a true utility for the team.

She played in nearly every position on the diamond, taking catches and making countless plays. Whilst the ACT team did not emerge as the winners, their win against WA was a highlight along with many other close matches throughout the tournament.

Congratulations, Talia, on a brilliant display of sportsmanship and skill throughout the tournament. We look forward to witnessing your continued success both on and off the softball field.
