Doctors In Schools

It is with great pleasure that we announce that our Doctors In Schools Program will be recommencing this week. We are very excited to be in partnership with Lister House Clinic and welcome Nurse Sharon Hedt and Doctor David Wilson to our program. Sharon and Dr Wilson will be in residence in our Doctors in Schools Building each Thursday of the school term from 9am until 1pm. This is a service for all Horsham College students to access and appointments can be made through the Lister House Hot Doc App, clicking on the Horsham College Students link.

Uniform

As the winter weather approaches, students are reminded that Horsham College beanies can be purchased from the Administration Office (the only approved beanie). We would also like to remind students and families that long sleeved plain white and navy blue garments can be worn under Horsham College uniform. Last year, our policy was updated to include a Horsham College Rugby Jumper, sports pants and a soft shell jacket - we are still waiting for this stock to arrive at our supplier, but we will let you know as soon as it does.

Year 11 and 12 Exams

VCE exams are fast approaching with exams being held in the Maroske Hall on Dimboola Road. Students need only attend their exam during the exam period and can utilise the study centre for any study prior. Students are able to wear casual clothes on the day of exams and reminder, that the hall can get a bit chilly at times as it is such a big venue.

Unit 3 exams commence Monday 5th June and run through to Thursday 8th June. The following day (Friday 9th June) is a school wide Curriculum Day and the following Monday 12th June the King’s Birthday public holiday.

Unit 1 exams will commence on Tuesday 13th June through to Friday 16th June with the GAT on Thursday 15th June. Semester 2 (units 2 and 4) officially commences on Monday 19th June leading up to the end of the term with the last day of term 2 being Friday 23rd June. Please be sure to check your seqta messages regularly for further information regarding the exam schedule (report any exam clashes to the level co-ordinators) and information on the GAT.

 Year 7 Camp

Last week the Year 7s enjoyed their year level camp at Grampians Retreat in Dunkeld. Students participated in a variety of activities including giant swing, flying fox, low ropes adventure course, orienteering, bush art, archery and the Picaninny hike. It was great to see students building friendships, enjoying the fantastic weather and supporting each other during the camp. Many thanks to all the staff who attended and Mrs. McKenry for organising the camp.
