Goals for Living Well  Learning Well

We are Valued, Respected and Cared For

The Term 2 theme for Living Well Learning Well at Sacred Heart is 'We Are Respected'.  Each week we unpack a Core Value to remind us of the actions and behaviours to uphold in reaching our goals.

Week 4-5 Core Value is: ''Show Pride in Self and School"

Today was a great example of our students showing pride in themselves and their school. All students were very well groomed in their winter uniform for the Gunnedah Eisteddfod, with many compliments in this regard.

This week we will continue to talk to the students about what it mean to have pride for your school.

  • School pride is the idea of feeling a connection with the school community and being proud to represent the values of a school. The sense of belonging and pride have positive impacts on the school community from student success to a better school environment.
  • Students can and should be proud of their accomplishments, their class work, their classroom, and their peers. Ultimately, pride is about ownership. When students have a real sense of ownership in something, they are much more likely to be proud of it.
