Girls Netball Team Report

Ruby H, Makayla W, Isabella K, Maylea Mc, Zoe W, Airlie F, Caitlin M, Mia J and Keely Mc

On the 24th of May 2023 us girls, Ruby, Makayla, Isabella, Maylea, Zoe, Airlie, Caitlin, Mia and Keely went to the 2023 Winter Sports Netball Competition, representing the Miners Rest girls Netball team.

With coach Emily Pellegrino leading us with courage and determination throughout the day. We all tried our hardest with amazing outcome! Our first game taking on St Thomas Moore resulting in a loss 6 - 8.

The second game we versed St Pat's with a fantastic win 11 - 3. Our final game in our pool was a great success but a really close game with an outcome of 5 - 3.

After waiting around and supporting the Miners Rest Mixed Netball team, we got the extraordinary news that we made the semi finals. It was a tough match, even though we lost, we gave it our all.

We all had such an amazing day.

Mixed Netball Team Report

Fergus B, Ellie B, Alexander G, Georgia F, Liana D M, Sienna R-R, Claire M and Isla G

On Wednesday the 24th of May Fergus, Ellie, Alexander, Georgia, Liana, Sienna, Claire and Isla competed in the mixed Netball team at Selkirk Stadium.

In our first game, we played against St Francis Xavier however they were late to the game, which meant we got 10 points (a goal for every minute they were late). They got 4 scores as well as us therefore in the end the score came to 14 - 4.

The next game was fierce, we played against St Patricks Primary School which unfortunately, we ended up losing 3-9. In the third game, we had another disappointing loss against Emmaus 2 - 4.

In what we thought was the last game, we ended up defeating Siena 8-1. Because of this victory, we ended up in the semi final against Mt Blowhard. Unfortunately, we lost 1 - 12 but we still had an amazing day with heaps of fun.

We’d like to thank Fergus’ mum Erin for coaching us as well as Emily for making this day happen. We were so happy that the girls and mixed team got in the semi-finals.

Cross Country - Warrnambool

Congratulations to Airlie F, Ruby H, Seth C and Oliver D who competed in the Greater Western Region Cross Country Competition in Warrnambool on Monday. This was a tough course for all involved and the competition was of a very high standard. Well done on a great achievement.

Division Soccer

We wish the Miners Rest Division Soccer Team and coach Emily Wood the best of luck for this Friday. They are playing at the Wendouree Recreation Reserve.
