Bicycle Policy and Permission Form
At St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, the riding of bicycles to and from school is encouraged and is the responsibility of parents and carers outside of the school. St Joseph’s aims to support parents and carers by providing a shared understanding of road safety education, school procedures and the safe riding of bicycles to ensure the health, safety and welfare of our students.
Before riding a bicycle to school students must have a signed Bicycle Riders Parental Permission Form. By signing the form, parents also acknowledge: responsibility for their child riding to and from school, that they have spoken to their child about bicycle safety, and that they have explained the St Joseph’s Bicycle Policy to the child (see below).
It is recommended that students under 10 years of age, DO NOT ride bicycles to or from school unless accompanied by an adult accepting responsibility for the student and identifying the safest route to and from school.
ACTION:
If your child rides a bike to school, read the policy and if you haven't already done so sign the attached permission form. Please do this even if you have signed the previous form.

Walk Safely to School Day
St Joseph's participated in the 'Walk Safely to School Day' last Friday. Well done St Joseph’s on walking safely to school!

Library News
In the library at lunch on Monday and Tuesday we have different activities, one of the activities this week was recycled robot construction. K-2 had a wonderful time constructing their masterpieces.
Last term we had the pleasure of having a number of Dads visit the library in the mornings, to share the space and books with their children. This was an initiative of the Fathering Project and it was evident from these special visits that both the father's and their children loved the opportunity to share the library and a story together.

2023 Diocesan Cross Country
Congratulations to all the St Joseph’s students who participated in the 2023 Diocesan Cross Country Championship in Nowra on Tuesday.
It was a beautiful day and the St Joseph’s students represented our school exceptionally well. All students showed outstanding school spirit, determination and persistence when competing on the challenging course against strong competitors. It was noticed by staff, parents and officials the lovely way students supported and encouraged one another. They did themselves, their parents and school very proud. Thank you to Mrs Bailey who was an official for our school and Mrs Grose and Mrs Smith for their time in training and supporting the students in the lead up and on the day.
The SJB squad was awarded OVERALL CHAMPION BOYS SCHOOL & OVERALL CHAMPION GIRLS SCHOOL which resulted in St Joseph’s Bulli winning the point score for OVERALL CHAMPION SCHOOL 2023!
