Mr Butts' Announcements

Our Fire Carriers made the front page of Monday's Shepparton News!

Reconciliation Week

St Mary's has a strong commitment to Reconciliation and this week has seen all students take part in a variety of activities.  Our Grade 1/2 students went on a walk to the Flats to hear the important story of our local indigenous history.  The Grade 5/6 children are heading to Rumblara to learn about it's history and how significant this organisation has been over many years.  Thank you to Mras Dyke and the teachers for organising the various events and activities

Sorry Day Liturgy

We commenced Reconciliation Week with a whole school Sorry Day liturgy on Friday.  Our Fire Carriers and Indigenous students led the ceremony which was moving and reflective. Thank you to Mrs Dyke for organising the liturgy.

Gr 3/4 Reconciliation Week Excursion

Michael Chisolm from the Catholic Education led our Gr 3/4 students on a excursion around Shepparton last week.  They visited the Rainbow Serpent, William Cooper's statue and the local murals of famous local Aboriginals.

Sacrament of Reconciliation

Congratulations to the students who celebrated their first Reconciliation last night. It was a lovely celebration and a special night for the children and their families. Thank you to Mrs Hicks and Mons Peter for making the night such a special one.

Covid cases

There has been a number of student covid-19 cases recently and to minimise update on isolation requirements. The Victorian Government recommends that a test is undertaken if symptoms are present.  If a positive result is returned, it is recommended to isolate for at least 5 days and until symptoms are no longer present.

I appreciate your cooperation as we embark on the cold and flu season. For more information, visit the Corona virus information website
