Captains Corner

From our Ashburn House Captains, Amie and Kaitlyn

Recently, Ashburn House had the privilege of coming together with other houses, Gibson and Campbell, for our annual House Chapel. Ashburn House Chapel was kindly hosted by Reverend Paul (affectionately known as Rev), who worked tirelessly on the presentation, songs and the prayers. Rev also led the skit, where students put their acting skills to the test and performed in front of staff, students and parents on a Christian story. This was a lovely gathering to enjoy some afternoon tea and come together as a house with students and parents all embracing the spirit of the day.

We are currently working on our performance for the College's inaugural Arts Day on 31 May. We are all hard at work learning our song and dance with a professional dancer, Jess, coming in to teach the choreography. Our house leader, Ms Gordon, is hard at work ensuring the house song is lovely, putting in the work to find the best singers throughout the house. There are only 2 weeks until we will all be performing on stage together!

We are also looking forward to our house fundraiser on 22 July where we host our Pyjama Day. National Pyjama Day is all about wearing your favourite pair of PJs to help The Pyjama Foundation raise much-needed awareness and funds for children in foster care. Students will bring in a gold coin donation to go towards the Love of Learning Program which is offered to children in foster care.
