From the Principal

Welcome back to Term Four.  This week, ELC, Prep, Years, 1, 2, 11 and 12 have made a triumphant return to the classroom. Next week, Year 7 return each day, plus Years 3-6 and Years 8-10 will take turns to visit school two days each over the next fortnight.  It is ‘time to shine’ again and as I walk around both campuses, the children’s excitement to be back at school brings so much joy.  We cannot wait to have all year levels back onsite full time, and I know that all parents feel the same way!

This week we received the Victorian Department of Education’s Operational Guidelines that determine what we ‘can’ and ‘cannot’ do at this time.  I suspect things might change when Victoria reaches 80% double dosage.  The positives include that all sport activities, including indoor and outdoor, are permissible and subsequently cricket, rowing and tennis trainings will commence next week.  Singing, brass and woodwind classes and groups can also recommence, and we are fortunate that swimming pools and libraries are open in regional Victoria. On the downside, all camps sadly cannot proceed.  Nor can we gather for assemblies (whole school and year level), formals, graduations, excursions and/or school tours.  This has caused some consternation as we re-adjust our plans again to formally farewell the Class of 2021.

‘Determination today leads to success tomorrow’ was the Year 12’s motto for 2022. In that vein, we aim to continue many of our traditional farewells online between 20-22 October, but we will defer our special Valedictory Chapel Service and Dinner until Wednesday 17 November in the hope that Year 12, their parents and teachers can come together to celebrate the Class of 2021’s achievements and graduation from College.

The staff and I have big plans for the final ten weeks of 2021, we invite you join us!
