Kingfisher Fair

Thank you for your support of the Kingfisher Fair, the Chocolate Wheel is by far the most amazing display of how fabulous our boarding families are. The goodies kept pouring in and we were able to create six baskets to be raffled off and some individual raffle prizes as well. We appreciate your support very much.

It was a lot of fun on the day watching the wheel spin around and the excitement of the various winners throughout the day. Thank you to Mrs Franzinelli for her tireless support of the Chocolate Wheel stand throughout the day.

The Kingfisher Fair provided students with the opportunity to be part of an act of service. The Breaksea and Endeavour girls came together to decorate the many donated Moccona jars. The Thursday afternoon before the Fair was spent making rocky road in Breaksea, this was loads of fun and resulted in that good feeling of doing something for your community. There were numerous large and small jars of Rocky Road made and every single one sold on the day!

The Endeavour boarders stepped up and were happy to be part of making banners, setting up the stall and generally being helpful. The Breaksea boarders were rostered on throughout the day to sell the Rocky Road and to help with the raffle tickets for the chocolate wheel. It was great seeing so many smiling faces and helpful people throughout the day.

The Eclipse boys boys came across to the fair and helped sell tickets for the firewood raffle. Brendan Quick was the volunteer of the day, working hard throughout the whole event, jumping between selling raffle tickets and helping at one of the food stalls. He then lent a hand packing up the event as well. Daniel Fisher also did a great job selling raffle tickets for most of the event.

Thank you to the families who donated bags of manure for us to sell at Fair. Many gardens will be growing well with the added fertiliser for spring. Kayde Bessell-Browne, Austin Brown and Tyler Germain were among those who helped to operate the stall.

The day also provided a wonderful opportunity to showcase the talents of young people within the school and particularly in boarding. There were a series of stalls set up for entrepreneurial students and Bethany Robertson, from Year Ten, had a stand of her artworks. She sold a number of her portraits and then continued painting more throughout the day for sale. Over lunchtime, patrons were also wowed by the talents of the VET Music students from Year Eleven. Madison Smart provided vocals and Caris Rae performed on the keyboard for a number of musical items. This all combined for a wonderful Kingfisher Fair.
