AND THE WINNERS ARE...

Make a Difference Songwriting Competition
A few weeks ago at assembly the ‘Make a Difference Songwriting Competition’ was launched, calling on students to create music based around the Trinity Difference model. The final week of voting saw students and staff visiting the C.L.I.P.S site and listening to and voting for their favorites. Some days saw over 200 people accessing the page and recordings!
Our guest judges likened the pieces to greats like Coldplay and Paul Kelly, and Kristen Ryan commented:
how impressive it is that you all managed to write an entire original song addressing the Trinity Difference in your music and/or lyrics, and have it finished and recorded within the time frame! It is not easy to write to a brief, and each of you have shown amazing potential as songwriters, so be proud of yourselves and keep it up.
Thomas McGuane commented:
These pieces were amazing, I know there were only 3 but such great quality and all three so different in genre, structure and instrumentation and vocal use.
A massive thank you to everyone who listened and voted and supported your fellow students. Just by doing this you have captured what the Trinity Difference is about.
The biggest thank you needs to go to the musicians that put themselves out of their comfort zone and composed a song. Not only did they create harmonies, write melodies, create lyrics, tell stories, collaborate, and use their knowledge; they also put themselves forward to be judged by their peers, teachers and our guest judges and alumni; Thomas McGuane and Kristen Ryan.
I have the absolute pleasure in announcing our young composers to you and the winners of the recording time in the ‘Don’t Poke the Bear’ Studio in Geelong. All prizes have been donated by Oxygen Music.
