3/4 VE

Welcome to term 4! It is hard to believe that we are in the final term of the year. Vanessa and I continue to be amazed with the commitment our class has shown towards their learning. We know how hard it has been learning from home and how much they are missing school. We are counting down the days to when we are all back onsite learning together.

Maths

The maths focus over the next few weeks will be fractions. The students are learning to recognise and represent fractions. One way students make meaningful connections to maths is through experiencing maths in their every day lives.  Food is a great way to bring fractions to life. Whether you are cooking, baking or even serving dinner try and make the link to fractions. When you are cooking you can swap out the measuring cups to make equivalent fractions and emphasise the importance of fractions being equal parts.

Change

This term our theme will be change. Students will explore change through chemical science. Learn how prayer has changed over time and the changes prayer can have on our mind and body. Students have already started to explore the different types of prayer and the change they feel when praying formally compared to music, meditation or art based prayers. This song from our morning prayer is titled When you Ask He Cares. It had most of 3/4VE dancing and singing in their seats. Through music we open a conversation with God.
