Faith Matters
At St Francis Xavier School
Dear St Francis Xavier Families,
Welcome to Term 4.
I know like us, you will be excited about the prospect of the children resuming on-site learning within the next few weeks. We are genuinely thrilled about seeing everyone back at SFX.
My final Newsletter last term referred to our remote learning school prayer and faith experiences and how we are doing all we can to ensure they are positive and engaging for the children. It also mentioned the research into the wellbeing aspect of praying.
This week our middle school children were invited to provide their honest feedback about prayer. They were required to respond in writing to a series of questions related to their prayer understanding, knowledge and practise. These types of surveys are really helpful in assisting us to identify what is working well and where we need to focus future teaching and learning.
I am most appreciative of the children for their sincere and direct responses as they have provided useful feedback about uncertainties regarding the wording of some of our more formal prayers. Their comments will also direct the teachers to address misconceptions.
Overwhelmingly, the children found prayer to be a positive, experience. They have given me permission to anonymously share with you their comments about two of the questions.
