Miss Mc Coy's Grade 4
Here are some writing samples from across the term since we went back into Remote Learning. We have used Alliteration to write silly stories and poetry to create spells.

Hungry Hawk hunts hotdog hoarders. Hungry hawk hates hotdog hoarders for hotdog hoarders hoard hotdogs. Hungry hawk has no hotdogs to hoard. Hungry hawk happens to have found humongous hotdogs. Harry hates humongous hotdogs. So hungry hawk hoards humongous hotdogs. – Hugo Turnbull

Poetry
Come on kids let’s get rid of the witch
We will make spell to make her itch.
Plip and plop into the pot.
It will boil and bubble it’s very hot.
We will add a very big toad’s leg.
We will also add a poisonous egg.
We will add a long arm.
Then we will do a charm.
Evie Pogue
For this spell to work, you’ll need an egg
And crack it on a burble’s leg,
Then you’ll need to grill it quick
Or else you’ll end up with a trick!
You also need a slice of toast,
Spread some jam on, if you wish to boast.
Sprinkle on some fried cake,
That’ll make the witch ache!
Roll it all in a ball
And roll it all down your hall
The witch will grab it,
Which will spawn a rabbit!
The rabbit will kill all of them,
So, happy ending!
Lila Brown
Have you ever had a horrible itch,
To get rid of a mean old witch,
To kill a witch,
There is one simple trick,
If you make a potion that will make a witch sick,
When it happens you will say,
This is the end, my mean old friend,
To make this potion work first you must,
Go down to the river,
And get a fish liver,
It's only fair,
To boil it and sprinkle it with a pinch of dogs hare,
Boil it and foil it,
And chop it to pieces a bit,
You take a toasted cow leg,
And boil some burble eggs,
You take your dog hair fish liver,
And your boiled burble eggs,
Put it all in a big saucepan along with the toasted cow leg,
Cook it and grill it,
Toast it and fill it,
Slice it and boil it until it is a big soup,
this doesn’t just work on one witch but a big group,
Put it in the refrigerator,
Soon the nasty old witch will be saying see you later,
When it’s cold,
And it's been rolled,
Add a crack of cat prancer fat,
That’ll ought to get the actual witch brat,
Then she will feel,
Like she’s swallowed an eel,
She will burn from the insides hot,
And feel like she has been shot,
She will burst into flames,
And that will be the end of her days.
Hugo Turnbull
If you want to stay alive
You have to destroy the witches hive
All you need is 5 cat legs
And a big old handful emu eggs
Mix all this in a pot
Then all the witches will be left to rot
