Year 10 Community Day

On Monday 16 November, Year 10 worked with Gerard and Charlotte from Real Talk, completing activities to navigate and make informed decisions around love, relationships and sex.

Students explored their own self worth, noting that what social media tells them about their personal identity is very different to God’s amazing hopes for young people regarding love and life to the full.

Through group work and reflection our hope is that students will realise the importance of the gift of relationships and sex and to treat themselves with the dignity they deserve.

• Considering the personal topics we discussed the day was extremely fun and engaging!
   
• I had a blast, it was so much fun playing games and having a laugh with my mates, it also really made me think about the future in my experiences regarding relationships and sex.
   
• The talk was exciting and engaging and really well organized by Gerard and Charlotte. Loved hearing their personal stories, they really created a safe space.
   
• I believe the community day was a huge success with the use of personal experiences shared with the year group.
   
• Overall the day was highly informative and I would recommend it to other students exploring relationships.
   
• The day was extremely fun and the information provided was very helpful for us as young people.
   
• I found the day really insightful and open minded. They didn’t pressure anyone into participating in anything and it was just an overall positive experience.
