school life

unit TD

The kids of Unit TD have had a wonderful reconnection to the classroom and their peers in the first week (and a half) back at school. Grade 3 students were lucky enough to return a day earlier than their older classmates, but the two groups each enjoyed having the run of the room before coming together once more in a fantastic first Friday back.

Although steadily rebuilding the rhythm and routine of school has been a focus, TD students have also had a taste of the deep end in commencing work on a new inquiry topic: Matter.

Students have completed graphic organisers showing what they understood already about solids, liquids and gases. Following this, they found space to acknowledge new questions. Each student fixed their minds to writing down something they wondered about matter...

However, some of the most interesting discussions came about after engaging with Thinking Routines, a set of visual provocations alongside questions. Some really rich conversations resulted, and it’s safe to say Unit TD are excited to explore more as their inquiry into Matter progresses!
