Year 7 Electives
Over the past few weeks, our Year 7 students were exposed to a range of electives they would otherwise have missed out on this year. A big ‘Thank you!’ to Mr Joel Williamson for putting this schedule together. 7B was the last group to experience our farm animals, cooking healthy foods - with great skill! - and helping Mr Svigos in the Primary garden. The students really embraced this adventure!

Indonesian Zoom Incursion
On Monday 23 and Tuesday 24 November, Years 7 and 8 Indonesian students were involved in an Indonesian cultural Zoom incursion. Our guest was 'Pak', or Mr Dika, from Bali. Via Zoom, the students had the opportunity to participate in a language lesson and learned Balinese cultures such as Balinese families, children who are named according to their number, and interesting facts about Bali. Some students participated in the Balinese ‘Gopala' dance and Q&A section, where students could ask Pak Dika anything they wanted to know about Bali.
I was very pleased to see the students were willing to embrace and learn some things that were very different than what we do here in Australia, especially when they became involved in learning the Gopala dance. Most students enjoyed and had fun learning the Gopala dance. Some of the students even did the dance after the incursion day.

Year 9 Students Prepare for Market Day
This Friday, our wonderful Year 9 students will be putting on a lunchtime market. As part of their study of business, the students formed business groups, developing an idea and preparing a business plan. Each group then presented their business idea to a 'Shark Tank' of 'investors'. The sharks for this lucky cohort consisted of Mr Manning, Mr Williamson and Mrs Steinbergs. A number of the business groups now have the opportunity to run their businesses this Friday at lunch time. They have received pre-orders from the Primary School and are busy getting those orders prepared. We look forward to an exciting day.
