Keep those Angels coming!!

We are looking forward to filling St Brigid's with a Choir of Angels

Dear Parents and Friends

FOUNDATION ORIENTATION FOR 2021

Well the time has finally come (next Thursday) for us to welcome our Foundation  students for 2021! We are looking forward to having the children all onsite and chatting with them face to face rather than through a TV screen. The teachers are very excited to be working with them as well. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to have all the students onsite at the same time due to COVID restrictions and parents will have to leave the foundation children at the front office as they are not allowed onsite as well. Never fear we have lots of support with bringing the children in. Tracey, Michele, Jodie, Cathryn, Sigi, Nicolene, Glenn and myself will be ready to take them over to their classroom.

TRANSITION SESSIONS

We had our first transition sessions on Monday for the Year 1-5. The children were very excited to go into a new classroom and have different friends in the class. Jodie and I went into every classroom and the children were settled students and teachers were enjoying themselves.  This is our first of three transitions and our final transition session on Monday 14th December where the children will meet their teacher and new classmates.

COVID RESTRICTIONS SCHOOLS VS COMMUNITY VS PARISH

Hopefully, on Sunday Premier Dan Andrews ease restrictions further for Victoria,  however that does not mean restrictions at schools will necessarily change. We are updated from Catholic Education Melbourne after the Premiers announcements and we have to follow those guidelines.

With the short time left at school, we need to make decisions based on current information so we can put plans into place as many end of year events require time to prepare. Thank you for your understanding in these difficult times.

VIRTUAL ART SHOW

We are very excited about our Virtual Art show which is coming up in Week 10. Sarah, Sigi and our talented students have been working very hard on their art work - I have had a sneak peak and I am very proud of the work the children have produced! A big thank you to Jodie, Arch, Cathryn, Sigi and Tracey who have worked very behind the scenes to get our pictures into the virtual space.

CHRISTMAS ANGELS

Our Christmas angels are starting to arrive! We do not have enough yet for a choir so get your creative hats on as a family and lets the “choir”  happening. We are looking forward to seeing all our different angels (we even have a Spoonville angel!)

PARISH CHRISTMAS MASS

Just a reminder about our videos and photos for the Fr Andrews Christmas Mass. We have started taking photos at school but we would love to have some videos  of messages and photos of your Christmas spirit eg family decorating the tree, making a christmas pudding.

Please make sure you read our newsletter and all SkoolBag alerts so you are aware of what is happening as our restrictions ease.  Wishing you a great week.

Yours in partnership,
