Cricket Australia Mascot Challenge

Foundation and Year 2 students have been completing this program during Physical Vibe lessons over the past few weeks. It incorporated short challenges that develop fundamental movement skills - click on the link to check out the activities. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5rtrwJiwSZ2V03BLMR5y5g

All students have been monitoring their progress and setting goals for each activity. Skills covered have included catching, throwing and bouncing. These sessions have incorporated a range of individual and partner work. Upon completion of each activity they would place stickers on their certificates. They also were able to take home a Melbourne Stars soft ball to celebrate their achievements. Thanks to Cricket Australia for the fantastic resources and goodies for the students. Sporting Schools Programs Update

Thanks to the grant money received new equipment was purchased and arrived to begin both the A.F.L program (Foundation - Grade 4) and Table Tennis program (Grade 5 & 6).

Students have loved being able to all have a piece of equipment and work through skills at their own individual level. For a lot of the students it is the first time they have had a go at either sport and their enthusiasm to learn new skills has been infectious.

House Sports

It is safe to say that Fridays are a favourite day among the students. They love wearing their House colours and supporting their house mates. This term each subschool has been completing the following activities:

Junior School - Fundamental movements skills of throwing, catching, striking using frisbees, tennis racquets, soccer balls and footballs. The teachers have commented on their teamwork and encouragement towards others.

Middle School - T-ball, Newcombe, Netball and Basketball. The teachers have linked concepts covered in P.E lessons with reference to attacking positions, defensive movement and creating space.

Senior School - T-ball, Newcombe, Netball and Kick ball. The teachers have linked concepts covered in P.E lessons with reference to attacking positions, defensive movement and creating space.

In Spanish STEAM students are having fun with a Sphero robot to count in Spanish; we are using Makedo to build helmets with cardboard; we are using geometric shapes to create figures and learn new vocabulary and we are building towers and Lego challenges.
