Principal News

Can you believe that we only have 3 weeks to go in this crazy 2020 year full of wonderful events such as Year 6 Graduation, End of Year concert, Transition and all the end of year activities of fun and excitement we can include.

But... it is also this time of year where we need extra family support in ensuring we instil positive behaviours and promote high expectations in the way we speak and behave to everyone - students and staff.

Staff will be strongly implementing our Minor and Major Behaviour expectations to the very last minute, on the very last day of school.

We thank you for your support to ensure everyone finishes the year on a positive.

End of Year Celebrations

aka AKA School Concert

We are very excited to announce that CSPS will be hosting an end of year celebration.  All classes are invited to perform, watch and congratulate our classes on an amazing year full of surprises and achievements.

Unfortunately we are not able to open this event to the public, however we will film the celebration and post on our website.

What do you need to know?

  • WHEN:  Friday December 11th
  • WHERE:  On the basketball court during the afternoon
  • Classes are busily preparing their item to perform
  • Students will perform on an outdoor stage
  • An order has been placed for nice weather :)
  • Students and staff can bring their own picnic and watch the show!

In such an extraordinary year it is essential that we celebrate in style. If families have any questions regarding this event please email your child's class teacher. Stay tuned for the exciting acts to be uploaded to our website.

Step Through

Moving between year levels

During the past 2 weeks we have commenced our Transition Step Through program.

This program provides students with the opportunity to experience school life in their next year level with their year level cohort. All students have participated in English and Maths learning activities as their 2021 year level.

This program is completed with a final Step Through day on Monday 14th December. On this day, students will spend the morning with their 2021 class teacher in their 2021 classroom space. A personalised note will be sent home with your child at the end of the day containing information regarding class teacher and classroom location for 2021.

There is a great deal of preparation regarding class placements, to ensure that students are best supported socially, emotionally and academically.

2021 school camping program

We are pleased to announce that school camps have been booked for both the Middle school (Years 3 & 4) and Senior school (Years 5 & 6) for 2021.

These camps will be occurring in Term 2.

  • Middle school will be attending Camp Toolangi from May 17 - May 19th 2021.
  • Senior school will be attending Camp Rumbug from May 24th - May 26th 2021.

These camps are subject to change if COVID restrictions are enforced.

Child Safe

Standard 7: Strategies to promote child participation and empowerment

TERM 4 STUDENT WORKSHOPS

Having a network of people that you trust is an essential component of Child Safe.

Over the next 2 weeks students will be participating  in a child safe workshop designed to encourage them to think about who could be included in their network of trusted people.  Students are asked to identify 5 trusted people and think about how they might share a worry or concern that may be on their mind.

These workshops will be led by Rachael Mazzaglia (CSPS school counsellor) and implemented across all levels of the school.

Late arrival & Early collection Your consideration please

We understand that there are times when you may be running late for school drop off and may need to collect your child earlier then 3:30pm.  Please read the following information regarding our Covid Safe late arrival/early collection procedures.

Late Arrivals

  • If your child is arriving late, we ask that you please proceed to the Kiss & Go area and call the Office to notify them of your  child's late arrival.
  • If your child is happy and confident to walk themselves to the classroom this is fine, if they would prefer for a staff member to come and meet them this is also fine.
  • We do ask that you never let your child enter the school grounds without notifying the Office of their late arrival.  This will ensure the roll is adjusted and no incorrect absence texts are received.
    Early Departures
  • If you need to collect your child early please email the school prior to 10am on the day (Do not phone the school).
  • In the email please indicate the name of your child, class, date & time of the early collection.
  • Upon arrival at Kiss & Go please call the office and we will have your child brought to you.  Visitors are not currently permitted on the school grounds.
  • We ask that early collection is not during break times as it is extremely difficult to locate the children when they are running around the yard.
  • If you can avoid early collection we ask that you do so.

Current break times

Break #1 - 10:40-11:10am

Break #2 - 12:40-1:10pm

Break #3 - 2:40-3:10pm
