Principal's Report

It has been a big couple of weeks for Warrnambool East Primary School celebrating Michelle Miller’s retirement and Robyn Ledin officially resigning from her position as Assistant Principal after being successfully appointed to the Support Services Manager Role with the Department of Education, Wimmera South West.

FAREWELL AND THANKYOU TO ROBYN LEDIN

Robyn’s journey over 30 years at our school has been nothing short of amazing. Robyn came to WEPS in 1991 as a grade 6 teacher. Over the years she taught grade 1/2 , Prep, was a leading teacher, Assistant Principal and Acting Principal. We thank her for leading our school in many ways and her dedication and commitment to always improving our school to be the best it can be. Robyn’s three children also came to WEPS for their primary school education.  We wish Robyn all the best with her new job – and while we are sad that she is leaving us, we know that many schools across the region will now be lucky enough to benefit from her vast knowledge, advice and support.

It is with mixed feelings that I have accepted an ongoing role with the Department of Education as Manager of Health and Well-being throughout the Wimmera South West Area.

I arrived at Warrnambool East Primary School in 1991 and have taken on many different roles at the school and throughout the wider education community since then.  After so many years WEPS is like a second home to me.  I’ve taught nearly every year level in the school Prep to Year 6, have been a Leading Teacher, Assistant Principal and Acting Principal.  I’ve taught parents of current students, have watched babies become Preps, and Preps become Year 6s.  I’ve worked alongside nine different principals – all of them different, but all of them bringing something unique to help WEPS grow as a school.

I will always feel a part of the Warrnambool East school community, and my own three children also attended the school so I know it is a parent as well as a staff member.

Last week I was thrilled to speak at assembly for one last time, and my message to the students was that while a Principal and Assistant Principal are important for a school, it is up to us all to make the school the best that it can be – from Preps to Year 6 students, parents, and staff.

Thank you for partnering with me and the school to ensure the very best education (academic and social learning) for your child.

Robyn.

We are looking forward to a positive end to the term next week. A reminder our Grade 6 leaders have organised Are you OK day activities, remember to bring silver coins to participate.
