Banyule Nillumbik Mini Maker Fair
Banyule Nillumbik Tech School invites you to attend their annual Mini Maker Faire!
Run by local secondary students for local primary students, our Mini Maker Faire is a gathering of curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do.
Part science fair, part festival, and just plain fun – the Mini Maker Faire is an event for tech enthusiasts, crafters, builders, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, scientists and artists.
All of these “makers” come to the Mini Maker Faire to inspire primary school students, show them what they have made and open their eyes to something exciting and new.

Petrie Park Masterplan Implementation - Colouring Competition
The Masterplan
The Masterplan was adopted by Council in 2016 after extensive community consultation. We now have the opportunity to implement the master plan funded in partnership with Level Crossing Removal Authority (LXRP) who are undertaking works in the area is focusing on the implementation and delivery of actions from the Masterplan. The scope of works for the improvements include:
- Upgrading the path network
- Improved pedestrian safety
- A new intergenerational playground
- More greenery and tree plantings
What we want to know
As the Master Plan has already been adopted this project is focusing on the delivery of its already agreed upon actions.
The community consultation exercise will focus on feedback on the intergenerational playspace that has been further developed as part of this delivery project. The playground concept design focuses on accessibility, sensory play, experiences for a varied user group with varied age and abilities and incorporating nature into the space.
The questions we are asking the community are as follows:
- Do you like the new playground design?
- Any other comments
Name the Train and Colouring Competition
As part of the consultation we are running a colouring competition for everyone to get creative and have some fun in anticipation for the new playspace. We will organise prizes and the winner of the colouring competition will choose the name painted on the new train equipment installed in the playground. The colouring sheet will be available for download to all community members from our Shaping Banyule page. https://shaping.banyule.vic.gov.au/PetriePark
