SAKG

This week in SAKG:

Wow! It’s been a big term in the Monty kitchen garden.

We’ve nearly moved out of the old and into the new, recycling as much as possible and salvaging all we can. Our fruit trees will be lifted out with machinery (the big boys’ toys!) in the first week of the school holidays and transplanted into large timber crates, and from there we’ll place them in the temporary garden.

BTW, the temporary garden will actually be permanent, and when the builders finish the new design, this temporary garden will back onto the new one, creating a huge productive area.

This week we’ll be planting out all the potted bits and pieces we dug up from the old garden and prepping the beds for spring planting in the new term. The kids are loving all the hands-on dirty work of shovelling and barrowing soil into the new beds, and it’s been a real pleasure and privilege to facilitate their ongoing involvement in their own garden.

Have a safe and happy holiday and see you next term!

Cheers Dave
