Grade 1 Students

Celebrating our outstanding Ones!

1A - Miss Morrison

Here we are reflecting on the school values and what we can do to show how we display these values in the classroom. We showed great team work and negotiating skills while brainstorming our ideas.

We then used these ideas and wrote a pledge, which included two ideas for each value. We want to lead by example in 1A and show safety, respect, friendship and learning at all times. When we see our friends demonstrating these values, we can ‘Nominate a Mate’ for the Student of the Week award.

1B - Miss Lou

IB have become familiar with coins, their appearance and worth. This fortnight they have had the opportunity to explore and make different amounts using different coin combinations. They have had fun working out what coins they can use to pay for items. Below is a cut and paste activity that we completed this week.

We have loved learning about procedural texts in Grade 1! It is so much fun to be able to do some hands-on activities (crafts, games etc.) and then write about them using the procedural text structure. Our focus has been on including detail in our steps so that readers can understand exactly how to follow along to reach the end result.
