FOOTY COLOURS DAY proudly supporting the Mphatso Children’s Foundation

Students are invited to come dressed in their favourite team colours on the last day of term, Friday 16th September. This will be part of an epic fundraiser on the day, raising funds to support the Mphatso Children’s Foundation.

WHICH TEAM WILL WIN THE BUNINYONG CUP?

We will finally be able to answer the question that is on everyone’s lips… which team will win and have the glory of being named the most popular AFL club at Buninyong PS? 

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?

Start collecting coins and bring along a donation on the day! We encourage students to collect as many 5c coins as they can, as 5c coins have become synonymous with Mphatso. This is how much it costs to provide a bowl of porridge to a student each day at school. For many of the children, this is the only food they will have for the day. 

Students may bring along as many coins as they wish, and coins can be of any denomination. 

WHAT HAPPENS ON THE DAY?

Each team will have a container, clearly labelled with their name and club colours. Each class will have the opportunity to come along and help kick some goals for their team by depositing coins into their favourite team’s jar. 

The team at the end of the day with the most donations (in volume, not value) will be crowned the winner!

For those who don’t follow the AFL… don’t worry! We will have a jar for you to add to. Will that be the ultimate upset, with all AFL teams being beaten for the Buninyong Cup by other sports? 

All donations will then be forwarded to the Mphatso Children’s Foundation on behalf of our school. 

As many of you may know, we have had an ongoing relationship with Mphatso Children’s Foundation in Malawi for many years. A former parent of Buninyong PS, Robyn Casey, established the Mphatso Children’s Foundation back in 2004. 

Their mission is to FEED THE CHILDREN, GROW THE COMMUNITY & IMPACT THE FUTURE.

Amazing Buninyong Child (ABC) Awards

Congratulations to the 3-4 students who were recognised with an ABC award at our recent assembly for doing wonderful things at school! Well done. 

Happy Father’s Day

We hope that you all enjoyed celebrating Father’s Day over the weekend, celebrating the special men in our lives. We also hope all our dads enjoyed their specially chosen from the Father’s Day stall! The students enjoyed selecting their favourite items that they knew their special person would like.
