From the Principal
Dear families
Thank you to the many families whom I have met with this term both formally and informally. I know this has been a challenging time for many due to illness and the ongoing impact of Covid and I thank you for your resilience and support of the school.
We have another busy week ahead. We are mid way through Term 3 and, at last, we have opportunity to come together as a school community. We celebrate Book Week this week and warmly invite families to attend the Book Week Parade at 2.15pm on Friday. The ability to read unlocks the learning of any subject in High School and beyond as well as many day to day functions such as driving, banking and shopping. We also know how reading can unlock imagination and creativity and so we thank you for supporting Book Week and the focus on fostering a love of reading for all students.
As well as Book Week we have a Student Free Day today with a focus on the latest adaptation to the Australian Curriculum in Literacy and the documentation of a guaranteed and viable quality curriculum at Woodville Gardens School, Birth to 6.
Tomorrow is the school photo day - please make sure you have returned the completed forms to indicate your preferences. There will be a catch up day later in the week for anyone absent due to illness tomorrow.
Later this term (22nd September) we have Sports Day and our second Family Expo. We are also holding Principal tours and our main Preschool to school transition days.
I look forward to seeing you soon,
Sue
