SUPPORTERS DAY - this Saturday

What a season the 1st XV and, indeed, all our Rugby teams are having. The 1st XV has won their past three games and are looking at an unprecedented four in a row. Come and support the team at Oxford Falls this Saturday at 3.15 pm.

All students present for the game will receive a free sausage sizzle. All players will receive a ticket from their coach and non-rugby players are to see Mr Gillogly on the day for their ticket. The ticket is to be presented at the BBQ between 2.00 pm - 3.00 pm and is only valid for a sausage sandwich. Any students attending to support should be in full uniform if not playing.

Monster Raffle Draw

For even more incentive to stay and watch the 1st XV, our monster raffle will be drawn at half-time of the game. There will be a small number of tickets available for sale on the day for your chance to win.

If you have not returned your allocated tickets these were due on Monday. Could you please ensure you return the tickets/money to the finance office.

Dates for the diary

  • Saturday 20 August - ISA Round 7 vs St Augustine's - HOME - Supporters round - please stay and watch the 1st XV.

Mr Martin Gillogly - Senior Rugby Convenor

ISA Tennis

Last weekend we saw the Finals for the competition and some fantastic gameplay! The Division 9 team of Samuel Hernandez Martinez, Elijah De-Fina, Isaac Birchall-Molloy, Matthew Sissons, Jayden Arapoc and Owen Calleia made it through to the Finals and played well against a strong St Patrick’s College team, but ultimately came away as Runners-Up.

I would like to take this opportunity send a huge thank you to all of the parents of our players this season.  Without your support, and some very early morning drives, our players wouldn’t have been able to enjoy such a successful season.

Mrs Veronica Bamber - ISA Tennis Convenor

Athletics

Carnivals

Our Athletics Invitational Carnivals run as per the schedule below. These are open to all aspiring athletes from Yrs 7-12 (NB. The Junior School has a separate pathway and different carnivals).

Registration for invitational carnivals: This will take place at a meeting at school. Students can still turn up and compete on the day if they miss the school registration meeting.

Program: Attached is the track and field program. Students need only turn up 30 mins prior to their first event for a warm-up (please find a staff member to sign-in) and can depart when they have finished competing (after recording their time/distance with a St Pius X staff member).

Clashes: Whilst there is some overlap with the final 2 rounds of the winter sport season, I would encourage boys at attend part of the carnival around their winter sport commitments if possible. Winter Sport takes priority over Athletics.

Carnival dates (Yr 7-12):

  • Sat 20 August – Warm-up Carnival - SOPAC
  • Sat 27 August – Warm-up Carnival - SOPAC
  • Sat 3 September – Warm-up Carnival - SOPAC
  • Sat 10 September – Warm-up Carnival – ES Marks
  • ISA Representative Carnival – Tuesday 13 September – SOPAC

* SOPAC – Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre – Homebush

* ES Marks - Boronia St, Kensington (next to Moore Park)
