Winter Sports Photos

The Winter Sports photos are being taken on Wednesday 31 August during Periods 1 – 4. Full sport uniform will be required for Rugby, Football and Tennis. All other photos will be taken in full school uniform including Blazers. Sports involved are Boxercise, Robotics, Athletics, Rugby, Football, Tennis, Debating and Chess.

 

There will be a few photos from Term 1 and 2 that need to re-taken due to too many students away with illness. A list of photos will be outlined in the next Woodchatta.

Science Week at SPX

Glass:  More than meets the Eye

The SPX Science Department warmly invites all students to come and join us to celebrate SPX Science Week (Monday 22 August - Wednesday 24 August). The theme this year for Science Week is Glass: More than meets the Eye… and there will be activities for students related to this theme each lunchtime, as per the schedule below.

There will be raffle tickets handed out to all attendees and lucky door prizes drawn each day.

A small gift will also be given out to the first 20 students each day.

Science Club Cancelled this Thursday

There will be no Science Club this Thursday due to Science Week happening in Week 6. Instead, could all Year 11 Science Club Leaders please attend a brief meeting at 1.00 pm in S2 this Thursday with Mr ten Seldam.

Splinters Splashes Sounds and Stage

The annual exhibition of Year 12 practical works in Visual Arts, Drama, Music and Technology will is happening next week on Thursday evening from 6.00 pm until 8.00 pm. You are very welcome to join us and support the amazing work of our talented young creatives.

Calling all young filmmakers…

All students (and staff!) are invited to submit a short film to the 7th annual Lights, Camera, Pius! Film Festival. Just remember to keep it PG rated and under three minutes long. Very short films are welcome. Showcase your filmmaking talents – there are generous prizes to be won!

Photography competition

What a great opportunity to win some prizes and practice your photography skills. Read up on the “Need a Lift” competition (attached) for young people in Northern Sydney to celebrate positive mental health. Entries close on 11 September.
