Principal's Update

Junior Spelling Bee Championship

Last Friday we conducted the Junior Spelling Bee championship in the Multi-Purpose Room. This meant that the winner and runners-up in each year level in P-2 competed for the chance to be the Whole School Junior Champion. The following students were in the final:

Foundation - Billy

Foundation - Orianna

Foundation - Buddy

Grade 1 - Keegan

Grade 1 - Diesel

Grade 1 - Sonita

Grade 2 - Elina

Grade 2 - Misty

It takes a lot of courage to get up in front of the whole school and I congratulate them all on their efforts. In order to grow and get better, we need to get out of our comfort zone and challenge ourselves. These students definitely did that! I’m happy to congratulate our first Junior Spelling Bee champion Diesel. Diesel will now have a spot in our spelling ‘Hall of Fame’ at the front of the office. He will remain Junior champion until this time next year when we run the championship again. Our Senior Spelling Championship will be held at the multi-purpose room on Monday 5th September at 12:30. Parents are welcome to attend.

Fathers Day Celebrations

This Friday, 2nd September, we will be holding our Father's Day Breakfast. From 8am to 8:45am we will be serving breakfast to the fathers and special people that our students have invited.

The Parents and Friends Committee have also been running a Father's Day Raffle. Students were sent home with raffle tickets and they are also available from the office. Tickets are $1 each and prizes will be drawn on Friday.

School Athletics

Friday 2nd September is also the day for our annual School Athletics. Throughout the term students have been practicing their athletics skills during sports sessions. We have even had a group of dedicated students practising at lunch time! I can't wait to see what they achieve on the day.

Families are welcome to come along and watch through out the day. A schedule of events will distributed via Compass and Facebook.

Have a great week!
