Year 12 ATAR Plant Productions

This week students visited the crop trial paddock to check on the young grazing dairy herd and got to squeeze in a few cuddles and face scratches.

The Class also prepared the equipment in readiness to perform an investigation today using potometers. Potometers are sometimes known as transpirometer, is a device used for measuring the rate of water uptake of a leafy shoot which is almost equal to the water lost through transpiration. The causes of water uptake is photosynthesis and transpiration. The Year 12 ATAR students will be testing out the potometers in different environments using temperature, wind and light intensity to see if this effects the rate of transpiration.
