Book Week
Hi Parents,
The children have had a wonderful time celebrating Book Week in the past 2 weeks.
Book Fair
Thank you for your support attending and purchasing from the Book Fair which has resulted in many happy children enjoying their new books. As a result of all the purchasing we have $795.50 Reward from Scholastic Book Fair which will contribute to purchasing new books for the Library. A special Thank You to Trudy Hammond and Liz Cox for their wonderful help during the Book Fair.
Year 5/6 Book Week Poster Competition
The Year 5/6 student have work extremely hard and created some awesome posters for Book Week. Thank you parents for supporting them as some of the work had to be completed at home. Congratulations to first place winners Francesca Buckenell and Jaime Hvalic, second place winners Lexi knight and Lottie Dalton and third place winner Louis Webb!
Illustrator Michael Camilleri Incursion
Wow! Michael’s presentation on Wednesday was certainly entertaining as he showcased his wonderful illustrating skills. He was able to display how to make a Story Board, develop frames and draw characters to create a story.
Our preps have reflected on their time with Michael. Please read below:

- I liked how I made my picture. It was called Funny Head. I liked making the books and watching the funny video (Grace)
- I liked the video. It was funny. Also, I loved the silly drawing (Sophie)
- I loved drawing the picture and I loved making the book (Alessia)
- I loved how we were writing and when Michael was telling us about his story. We had lots of fun (Antoinette)
- I liked the part where Michael did the funny sounds. He says that you have to make sounds when you draw (Alaina)
- I liked illustrating the monsters (Matthew)
- I liked drawing my crazy monster, When Michael looked at it he got really scared (Eamon).
Book Week Parade
Thank you for supporting your child with their amazing costumes for our Book Week Parade. The students were so excited about dressing up and it was wonderful to see the excitement on their faces and to hear them chatting to their friends about their fabulous costumes they created. They looked fantastic! More photos to come!
A huge Thank You to all the staff at OLHC who were a great support to the Library staff during the past 2 weeks.
