What’s been happening at OLHC?
So much has happened since our last newsletter!
The excitement of Book Week and the chance to get lost in fabulous stories and dress up as a special character that we might dream of being (or not) has been the topic of conversation with many children. It’s also an exciting time for the staff as we plan out costumes.
Who will be the White Rabbit? Alice? The Mad Hatter?
The fundraiser for ‘Pets of the Homeless’ is now complete with a grand total of $305 raised.
Thank you to everyone for their contributions of wonderful photos and money for this organisation. The pinboard near the staffroom is adorned with so many special family members with a unique story to tell about each precious pet. We don’t want to take this display down.
Passive Play, Lego Club and Gardening Club continue each week as opportunities for children to attend over their lunchtime. These groups are all well supported by all year levels.
SWELL Art Group 6 had their session today, sharing their new learning of modelling with clay for the first time, making a pinch pot and rolling ‘sausages’ to create pieces for a windchime. We continue to appreciate the support from Danette, Jen and Faith who enable this opportunity to be available for all children.
The Year 1/2s have enjoyed and benefited from the invitation to play Maths games with the Prep children. It was great to see the children learning and playing together, calculating quickly, demonstrating their skills while having fun.
Please enjoy the photos of these events.
Happy Book Week!
