A/Principal's Report

It’s been a wonderful four weeks at the College with Term 3 well under-way.

Last Friday we were thrilled to host the Minister for Education, Natalie Hutchins, alongside MP Steve McGhie, for a site visit of our Oval Redevelopment Project. The work on the oval is continuing, however it was incredibly exciting to join the minister, our student leaders as well as some students from our Rugby Academy to walk on the new turf. The sense of the space and facility is wonderful. We are hopeful that our students will be able to enjoy the oval from as early as Term 4!

Our Year 8-10s have successfully completed their Course Counselling in preparation for their 2023 courses. I would like to extend a huge thanks to families for supporting their young people to explore the choices that we offer to allow them to make the best decisions about their senior secondary pathways. These important choices will help us create our 2023 timetable as well as recruit the right number of teachers to be ready and organised for next year.

Cultural Diversity week is coming up in Week 2 of Term 4. It is delightful to be able to re-launch this wonderful program after two years of remote learning across this time. During Cultural Diversity week there will be an opportunity for students to engage in different incursions and activities from different cultures from their own, celebrate our different cultures through cultural dress, and celebrate with our community in an afterschool celebration on the afternoon of the 14th October. (Pencil it into your diaries -we are looking forward to inviting all our families into the celebration!)

I would also like to extend a sincere thank you to the school community for supporting me in the Acting Principal role throughout the last 4 months, particularly our parent and community members on School Council. We are pleased to welcome our College Principal, David Reynolds, back to his office in Week 10 of this term after being on a very well-deserved period of Long Service Leave.
