Year 11 Food Studies

Students in Unit 2 Food Studies are exploring creating their own Design Solutions. Students were given a design brief of creating a family favourite, popular commercially made product. The task involved students creating a questionnaire that they asked family members and friends on why they would be more inclined to buy a commercial product, rather than make it at home. 

 

Within the task, students were given the requirements of creating the dish in a 75-minute session, a budget of $10 and had to consider advanced cooking techniques within their recipe. Students then compared their final product to a commercially made version, with all students preferring their dish over the commercial version. Students drew on the cooking skills they have been developing over the year to showcase some delicious meals.
